1. The Task This competition asks you to send in (via internet, CD or other practical means) your proposal for 'The Sound of Design'. This might include but is not restricted to: - acoustic logos (max. 5 seconds), - trailers (max. 30 seconds), - sound loops (for telephone etc.). The approach to the task and the means of production are entirely up to you. The objective is to incarnate, explore, explain design within and through an acoustic time structure. The entries will be judged according to this being in some way unforgettable, basic, wonderful, intensive and: Design. Accompanying your entry will be a 400 word (1800 letters) document articulating the intention of the piece and the process used.
2. Who can Enter: This is a global competition so we are inviting students from all over the world to participate. Students from design and music schools and academies have been specifically invited though students from any other field are welcome to take part. It is also not restricted to students and collaborative entries are also encouraged. So - take part!
3. How to Participate Just send in your acoustic item via internet or as a CD (to the web or postal address provided on the homepage). And, of course, do not forget your name and address.
4. Some Legal Aspects - Copyright is retained by the author/s. The competition organiser will be permitted to publish any contribution until May 31, 2004 free of charge for non-commercial promotional and educational reasons. - no correspondence will be entered into regarding the decision of the jury - the jury is absolutely free in its decision (there are no legal obligations or implications regarding the competition process) - postal expenses are on behalf of the sender - CD's and any other material submitted to this competition will not be returned The Award The winning entry (one person or a team) will receive: a certificate ¬ 2.500 international exposure and recognition. The jury may decide to give certificates of special mention to other outstanding entries.
